ABOUT Unifly
Our shareholders
To date, Unifly has raised 37 million euros. Founded in Belgium in 2015 by a team of air traffic control experts and engineers, today Unifly has a team of 50+ people across 3 locations: HQ in Antwerp (Belgium), New York (USA) and Bucharest (Romania).
Unifly successfully secured its Series A funding towards the end of 2016, with a notable contribution from Terra Drone, a prominent Japanese drone operator and system integrator. This, is in conjunction with initial investments from Qbic and PMV.
Fast forward to 2019, Unifly accomplished a significant milestone by securing its Series B round. Key investors in this round included Deutsche Flugsicherung (DFS), the national air traffic control authority of Germany, and Belgium’s Federal Holding and Investment Company (FPIM).
In 2022, Unifly entered its B+ funding round, attracting additional investments. Terra Drone and JOIN, the Japanese Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development, played instrumental roles in this round.
Terra Drone Corporation Investment
In August 2023, Terra Drone Corporation, a global leader in drone and UAM technology headquartered in Japan, acquired a 51% majority stake in Unifly. This acquisition followed Terra Drone’s initial investment in Unifly in 2016 and marks a major milestone in accelerating UTM innovation on a global scale.
Terra Drone’s expertise spans inspection, surveying, and advanced aerial mobility. By combining their capabilities with Unifly’s proven UTM platform, the partnership is enabling safe, automated drone operations across both controlled and uncontrolled airspace. The collaboration enhances our global reach and contributes to the realisation of future air mobility ecosystems in projects like NEOM (Saudi Arabia) and the Port of Antwerp’s BVLOS operations.
EuroUSC Italia Acquisition
In May 2025, Unifly acquired EuroUSC Italia, a prominent European consultancy specializing in drone regulations, SORA (Specific Operations Risk Assessment), and aviation safety. Based in Italy, EuroUSC Italia is renowned for its deep regulatory expertise and has played a pivotal role in shaping drone safety policies across Europe.
This strategic acquisition strengthens Unifly’s position as a holistic drone ecosystem provider, combining technological innovation with operational and regulatory guidance. Through this synergy, Unifly now offers integrated solutions that help public authorities and private operators scale safe drone operations while meeting stringent compliance requirements.
