Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

Purpose of the job
As a test engineer in our QA department, you will work closely with our software engineers, product owners and project managers to make sure we reach the highest level of quality in our software. You will do this together with other testing colleagues, both local and near-shore, using structured testing methodologies. You will report to the Head of Product Management.
Responsibilities of the job
- Prepare and automate test cases based on requirements.
- Collaborate with analysts and developers in defining acceptance criteria.
- Raise, analyse and follow-up the defects.
- Apply clean coding principles on test automation, keeping clear distinction between our product and project test cases.
- Expand our test suite with non-functional tests like performance and security.
Job skills
- Experience with test management tools (like ALM, TestRail, Xray, Jira…).
- Experience with Cypress test automation framework.
- Experience within an Agile environment is a plus.
- Excellent English language skills.
- Thorough knowledge of structured testing is a must: test methodologies and test techniques and how to apply these, considering the context of the customer/project.
- Proficiency in TypeScript: Strong experience with TypeScript is essential for writing, maintaining, and improving automated test scripts.
- API Testing: Solid understanding and hands-on experience in writing automated tests.
- Version Control with Git: Strong proficiency with Git and experience working with GitHub for version control
- CI/CD Pipeline, ideally with GitHub Actions (would be a plus): Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and the integration of automated tests into them
- Gherkin Syntax (would be a plus): Familiarity with Gherkin syntax and behavior-driven development (BDD)
- Experience in Mobile Automation (would be a plus): Familiarity with automating tests for mobile applications (iOS/Android) such as Appium
